Taste the most local food in Athens. Skip the tourist traps and discover the local bites of the Greek culture. More than 14 traditional, delicious, freshly cooked tastings. We will be walking in the heart of central Athens, where Athenians do their shopping for the daily meal.

We will introduce you to the vendors of our favorite local shops, share traditional breakfast delicacies, smell and learn about herbs and spices, visit a deli shop to taste the original honey glazed yoghurt and take you to the magical word of olives. Also, one of the best Greek traditional restaurants (mageirio) will be accommodating you for a seated lunch, cheese tasting and of course, you’ll try a dessert.
During the walk, you’ll meet our old friends in the oldest vegetable, fish and meat market of Athens and you’ll also try our best wines and distillates of the region.
Get the chance to know how to cook all the dishes you will try, and get local insight into recipes, tips for Athens, the islands and the culinary traditions.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a great tour with Douk who was clearly passionate and knowledgeable about food. We stopped at many places for tastings among which were a bakery, spice shop,the markets, honey shop, meat delicacies, olive oil shop, tiny restaurant and eventually a stop for cheeses and lunch! Dinner won't be needed tonight! Lots of interesting information about the food and stories about why they are important or loved in Greece. I would highly recommend this tour. A wonderful 3 hours walking through a lively part of Athens with the Acropolis in the background.

Hospitality at its best

Julia and Douk are tremendous hosts, they have a strong passion for food and the history of Greece. The food was excellent and Julia always had something to share about it! A phenomenal tour would highly recommend.

100% worth it!

we enjoyed the tour with Julia and Douk so much and 3 hours passed so fast! we were fed lots of nice food, stories, jokes and more importantly coming back with a lot more knowledge on the spices, and local culture! in the end of the tour, it was actually a full course lunch and we weren't able to finish the food and packed back for our dinner! tastes so great! thanks for taking care of us and answering all of our questions, we would 100% recommend joining the tour.
